Chitale Bandhu Instant Gulab Jamun Mix

Gulab Jamuns is one of the popular Indian desserts. Traditionally, it is made with khoya (thickened milk). I did attempt to make the gulab jamuns with the khoya available in the indian grocery stores in US. But the results were not all that great. I tried different instant mixes of gulab jaumns and I feel Chitale Gulabjamun is the best. It comes in the 400 gm packet which makes around 70-80 gulab jamuns. Just follow the instructions on the packet and this warm, sweet dessert can be made in a few quick and easy steps. The result is soft and amazingly good gulab jamuns. I am sure you are going to love these gulab jamuns. You can add cardamom, saffron and rose water to the sugar syrup for additional flavor. If you are making this dessert for a party, grate some cashews on the gulab jamuns. You can serve Gulab Jamuns warm or at room temprature; by itself or topped with vanilla ice cream. I only wish they come with smaller packet size (like 200 gm  pack), packet of 400 gm seems big for a small family.
