Mango Beet Relish

The idea for Mango-Beet relish was born one day as I was thinking of ways to use up the beet roots that had been lying in my refrigerator for a while. This is a very simple recipe, and ready in minutes. It tastes great with pretty much everything....rice, roti, naan, bread and even to top grilled chicken & fish. This is a healthy alternative to the traditional relish that’s used with hot dogs.


- 1 cup grated raw mango

- 1 cup grated beet root

- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder

- 1/4 tsp turmeric (haldi)

- Salt to taste


How To Make:

Mix the grated raw mano and beet. Microwave for about 2 minutes. Add salt, chilli powder and turmeric. Mix well and let it stand for a couple of hours before serving. This helps all the flavors to blend well. You can change up the proportions of mango and beet if desired based on how sweet or tangy you want the taste to be. Enjoy !!
